Tuck professor Richard D'Aveni comments on his new book Strategic Capitalism

D'Aveni takes both Democrats and Republicans to task for their continued fiscal irresponsibility and convincingly argues that the U.S. is in a cold war with China -- but U.S. political leaders are in complete denial about it. D'Aveni has an unusual and challenging view of what the U.S. needs to do to remain competitive and at the top of the heap. While the U.S. economy is still much larger than China's, it is commonly estimated that China will top the U.S. economy in size by 2027, thus ending the American Dream of another century of world economic leadership. Chinese GDP growth has been from 3 to 7 times faster than the U.S. rate for most years during the last decade.
